Hello everyone!

Quite a long time ago we discussed the most important events in history of music? so I watched a video on YouTube rating top ten most important moments in the history of music. All moments listed in the video are undoubtedly significant for the development of music but I would like to add a few of my choice.

Kurt Cobain: his band and his death

Kurt, the vocalist of the band Nirvana, was the voice of struggling teenagers of the 90s. If he hadn’t entered the music stage, the grunge movement wouldn’t have gained its popularity. His death being an uncovered secret changed the music leaving rock scene without one of the most appreciated stars. It’s hard to tell whether staying alive Kurt would turn grunge into more depressive movement or not since he had suffered of depression before his death, but he would be sure to remain a genius of music.

The British Invasion: The Beatles on Ed Sullivan

The moment when The Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan show became the beginning of British invasion. The religion of long hair and rock&roll took its roots in that room and that event shouldn’t be underestimated.

Korean pop music

Korean pop music or kpop has eventually become another trend of modern music industry. It’s hard to find a teenager that has never heard about BTS, Shinee, BlackPink or other bands from Korea. What makes their music clips such an appealing picture? I think that the combination of tune bubbling with energy, the fusion of ballade-like singing alongside with rapping and elaborate choreography is the key to the heart of kpop fans. that approach to performance is taken by many modern bands influencing the whole music industry.

The Woodstock festival

1969 is the year when Woodstock being the capital of hippy movement attracted attention of thousands of rock fans. It was the year when the man on the photo, Jimi Hendrix, converted the American anthem into the song against the war. He didn’t have intention to create it as the main symbol of love-and-peace ideology but his adaptation spreaded all over the world bringing hippie movement into the mainstream music.

Appearance of Ziggy Stardust

It was Ziggy Stardust who launched glam rock with colorful flashy outfits, boots with platforms, alienish make up and androgynous style. When David Bowie created him, he brought freedom of expression and performance to music industry.
